Scribbled is an online platform that celebrates emerging creative talent, from poets to essayists, historians to film critics and everything in between! As you peruse our pages and find engaging short stories, poems and articles, we hope you feel inspired to put pen to paper and allow your own ideas to flow!

Whilst on a semester abroad in San Francisco, our founder, Poppy Scales, found herself engaged in conversation with an archetypal tech bro (an experience she doesn't recommend). When she told him she was a writer, he laughed and said "but why would you want to be a writer when AI can do it for you?". Resisting the urge to punch him in the face, Poppy set about wondering how she could promote creative writing in an age where doom scrolling, AI, and phone addiction seem to have won. A few months later, she ran her first creative writing workshop to an online group of students, half of whom went on to write their own books.

Scribbled represents the next step in this mission to spread the joy of creative writing to a wider audience, bringing in guest writers, a blog, weekly writing prompts and much more to come.
